Fans of the ever-popular brand- Mercedes-Benz– may have noticed that certain models are disappearing. This is because the brand has set out to revamp their lineups, complete with new naming schemes. Since 1996, the Mercedes-Benz SLK has graced the auto world with its sporty presence. Now, renamed as the Mercedes-Benz SLC (due to its mechanical relationship to the C-Class), the model offers some old, favorite features, along with some brand-new ones. 2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC engine options
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz SLC offers drivers a few incredibly powerful options. Under the hood, the base model SLC300 will sport a 2.0-liter inline-four. The turbocharged engine will be able to output an upwards of 241 horsepower. Moving up, the Mercedes-AMG SLC43 will provide an even more impressive amount of power. Under the hood a 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine will have the capability of producing up to 362 horsepower (without even breaking a sweat). Along with the 362 horsepower, the SLC43 can go from 0 to 60 in approximately 4.6 seconds.
Both engines, the transmission, steering and suspension can be adjusted as drivers see fit, with the standard DYNAMIC SELECT feature.
2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC release date
We’ve been hearing about the SLK’s transition to the SLC for quite some time now, but the brand has remained pretty close-lipped about the release date. Along with the recently released specifications, Mercedes-Benz also let us know when we might have access to the brand-new SLC model. According to the recent press release, the Mercedes-Benz SLC will launch in spring of 2016. That being said, we only have a little bit longer to wait for this refined SLK to make an appearance.
