Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is no stranger to innovation; however, the luxury brand has stayed off the radar when it comes to the new electric vehicle trends until recently. This year, in England, the company revealed three concepts, all of which offer low emissions and promise for the future of JLR electric models. Range Rover Evoque Concept_e MHEV

The Concept_e MHEV is a mild Hybrid, which uses the Range Rover Evoque as its base. The concept features a diesel engine and a 48V electrical platform, while the motor is hybrid (the module is set between the engine and a 9-speed transmission). The generator on the motor features a 48-volt lithium battery, which completes the electrical system.

Range Rover Sport Concept_e PHEV

The Range Rover Sport Concept_e PHEV offers the ever-popular plug-in hybrid platform. According to the brand, the model is similar in structure to the MHEV, only it utilizes a gas-powered engine (versus a diesel one). The motor on the Sport Concept model can provide up to 150 kW of power, while it gathers its energy from a 320-volt lithium ion battery. The Range Rover Sport’s all-wheel drivetrain is kept in tact.

Jaguar Land Rover Concept_e BEV

While the Concept_e BEV doesn’t have a full body yet, the concept is based off of JLR’s aluminum structure. The concept features a 70 kWh HV lithium ion traction battery, completed by two separate motors. The front-wheel drive platform offers a one-speed transmission and an 85 kW electric motor, while the rear-wheel drive option has a two-speed transmission and a 145 kW motor.

The brand’s intention is to continue reducing emissions, while still offering practicality and luxury to its customers.
