New Audi Q6 e-tron reveal
If you paid close attention to this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, you know that there were a number of extra-spectacular (for lack of a better word) vehicles revealed. Among the reveals was the Audi Q6 e-tron, which will presumably be competition for the Tesla Model X in the race for a long-range, all-electric SUV. Audi wasn’t shy when it came to boasting its SUV’s capabilities. According to the brand, the new e-tron SUV will have a 310-mile electric range. If Audi can pull those numbers off, it will certainly be worthy of competitors like Tesla. While the vehicle is currently a concept, there is a plan to produce it.

Like we said earlier, Audi has made plans to produce the e-tron, and they plan to follow through with the extreme range. While this seems like a tall order, the brand is confident that it will be able to pull it off, but it will take a few years. Audi plans to produce and release the new, all-electric SUV by 2018. Audi believes this timeline will give supercharging infrastructure a change to flourish, making their vehicle a plausible option.
