How to help the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts from Dallas

If you’re from the Dallas area, chances are that you’ve been hearing all about Hurricane Harvey — the storm that has recently devastated the Texan coastline. If you’ve been wondering whether or not there’s something you can do from your home in Dallas, we have good news – there are plenty of things! People from the southern parts of Texas have obviously been moving North, as the storm dissipates. While the worst might be over, it’s time to band together and help rebuild. Read on for more about how you can help relief efforts!

Pledge Money

The Salvation Army offers care to both survivors and relief workers, during national hardships. Since Hurricane Harvey reached Texas, the organization has worked tirelessly to make sure that both short-term and long-term needs are met. Donate Food

As more Southerners travel North to find relief from the hurricane’s devastation, northern organizations are finding themselves in need of more resources. If you’re from the Dallas area and are willing to donate food or time, the North Texas Food Bank is in need of both. Click the link above to learn more about donating.

Donate Clothing and Time

There were a number of things destroyed during the recent storm – clothing is one of them. If you have clothes you’ve been meaning to get rid of for years, and they’re in decent condition, be sure to bring them to Trusted World. Here, you can also donate your time. Help Displaced Pets

If you have a special place in your heart for animals, they could use your help too! There were many displaced pets, as a result of Hurricane Harvey, and the SPCA of Texas is in need of assistance. If you’re looking to adopt, fees are currently being waived – and if you’re looking to volunteer time, that is also needed. Learn more above!
