When Will the BMW Individual M850i Night Sky Be Available?
An arrival date for the intergalactic BMW M850i Night Sky has not yet been announced. With the BMW M850i xDrive Coupe as a foundation, the 8 Series Night Sky Special Edition will deliver unrivaled performance when it arrives. Armed with a 523-horsepower 4.4-liter Twin-Turbo V-8 that makes 553 pound-feet of torque under the hood, the M850i Night Sky will sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.
BMW M850i Night Sky Features and Design Specs
BMW automakers have acquired a substantial stockpile of meteorites – small rocks from meteors that drop to the earth – that will be incorporated into the cabin of the BMW M850i Night Sky. Meteorite material will be present in the center console, stop/start button, gear shift lever, door sills and the BMW iDrive controller. To complement the rare meteorite material, designers will employ a Widmanstätten geometric pattern throughout the luxurious BMW 8 Series cabin that resembles ice crystals. The Widmanstätten pattern will be incorporated into the mirror caps, air intakes, the headliner, seats, center console and 3D-printed brake calipers.
Galactic design elements do not end there. BMW M850i Night Sky entries will feature tiny LED light units that are incorporated into the armrest to resemble the night sky. Deep, rich colors are employed in the interior to make occupants feel like they are in deep space with midnight blue carpet and tri-color – white, blue and silver – premium leather seats. A one-of-a-kind exterior paint scheme makes the BMW Individual M850i Night Sky appear to be from out of this world with a non-metallic black base coat that is then covered by San Marino Blue that employs a graduated effect to further resemble the far reaches of space.
