Will the BMW i8 Roadster make it to production?

About the BMW Spyder Concept

The i8 Spyder Concept is a plug-in hybrid model, which would potentially allow consumers to go 78 miles before needing to stop for gas. The powerful engine system, which includes lithium-ion batteries, has potential to produce up to 354 horsepower. While that numbers is already impressive, the production model has potential to output a whopping 400 horsepower! If that isn’t enough to impress, we don’t know what is. In addition, the concept model was designed to be able to be front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, making the possibilities endless for drivers.

Will BMW’s i8 be produced soon?

BMW has been sitting on the Spyder concept for over four years. That said, the BMW i8 Roadster is not something we’ll have to wait for until 2020 – so, yes, it will be soon(ish). Word on the street is that the i8 will make it to production by 2018, which is less than two years away. So, if you’ve been following the Spyder in all of its glory, just hang on for a couple more years and you’ll be able to have one for yourself.
