Audi’s Super Bowl ‘Commander’ advertisement features a song by David Bowie
Audi’s new ad for the speedy Audi features a retired astronaut, reminiscing about the golden space age. He seems down in the dumps, until his son (presumably) comes in and hands him the keys to a brand-new car. Since the model is one of Audi’s fastest, it gives the retired astronaut a renewed sense of moving at rocket speed. Both heartwarming and exhilarating, the commercial reminds its viewers that exploration, technology and shooting for the moon is the best practice. The song in the background of Audi’s Super Bowl 50 commercial is David Bowie’s “Starman”- a tune that rose to fame in early 1970.

The 2017 Audi R8 is the vehicle featured in the Super Bowl 50 commercial. The model is in its second-generation, and the newest Audi R8 V10 has the capability to make it from 0-60 in just over 3 seconds.
