Mercedes-Benz: a star in the making

Mercedes-Benz models in Jurassic World

This past weekend, Steven Spielberg’s most recent box-office smash hit- “Jurassic World”- graced theatres. “Jurassic World” is a continuation of Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park” series from the 90s, and it features a multitude of really cool Mercedes-Benz vehicles. If you’re curious which Mercedes-Benz models in Jurassic World rose to star status, we have the information you’re looking for. And don’t worry- no Mercedes-Benz vehicles were eaten (or damaged) in the making of this film.

The most highlighted Mercedes-Benz that was featured in the film was the brand’s newest model- the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe. The character Claire Dearing (portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard) had the privilege of driving the new beauty around the chaotic theme park. The new GLE Coupe has the shape of a muscular SUV, and reportedly feels like a sports car. The biturbo V6 engine is capable of outputting 362 horsepower, which is quite impressive for a coupe.

Mercedes-Benz models in Jurassic WorldWhile the 2016 GLE 450 AMG Coupe was the exciting new car featured in the film, another more familiar Mercedes-Benz also made an appearance. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, driven by Owen Grady (played by Chris Pratt), also had a good amount of on-screen glory. Those who are unfamiliar with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class should know that it’s one of the brand’s most luxurious vehicles, but it also packs a whole lot of power. With the capability of outputting about 530 horsepower, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is certainly capable of challenging a few dinosaurs. Other features available on the G-Class include heated seats, Bluetooth capabilities, navigation, a rearview camera and Parktronic (a system that assists with parking in tight spaces).

While the 2016 GLE 450 AMG Coupe and the G-Class seemed to steal the show, the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6, the Unimog and the Sprinter (brands manufactured overseas) were also featured in the film.
