When is the Tesla Model Y Release Date?

Production of the Tesla Model Y is expected to start in the spring of 2020 and eco-minded drivers can expect to see the Tesla Model Y on Dallas-Fort Worth roads by the start of summer. With room for up to seven passengers and up to 66 cubic feet of storage space, the Tesla Model Y is tailor-made for family adventures. Model Y crossovers will be available in a pair of trims – Performance and Long Range.

Tesla Model Y Engine, Fuel-Economy and Performance Specs

Not unlike the rest of the Tesla model lineup, the Tesla Model Y provides a perfect balance of modern style, fun-to-drive performance, efficient fuel economy and innovative technology. The Tesla Model Y is powered by a dual-electric-motor AWD system that allows the Model Y Performance to vault from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 145 mph.

With this powertrain under the hood, the Tesla Model Y Performance is expected to provide drivers with an EPA-estimated 315-mile range with a full electric charge. The electric driving range for the Tesla Model Y Long Range has not yet been revealed. The Tesla Model Y will deliver an EPA-estimated 121 MPGe rating that will outperform the Hyundai Kona, Jaguar I-PACE and Audi e-tron .
