History of the classic Jaguar XKSS

Classic Jaguar logo silverIn case you’re not familiar with the XKSS, we wanted to give you a bit of background. The XKSS was a D-Type performance model, which won three successive Le Mans races. Jaguar has a plan to produce a brand-new batch of the model, which should have the capability to be driven on the open road. In the past, during production of the extra XKSS models, a fire broke out in the factory. The incident destroyed nine of the half-finished vehicles. Jaguar never picked up re-making the models- that is, until now. Because of the success of the E-Type remakes (built by the brand’s Classic division), Jaguar decided to continue building these beautiful, high-performance vehicles. If you’re curious to find out when we might see the models come to fruition, read on.

New classic Jaguar XKSS release date and price

Since Jaguar announced (at the 2016 New York Auto Show) that it will be continuing the production of the XKSS, we’ve been antsy to know when the model will be released. There will only be nine cars produced- one for each of the past models that was lost. Jaguar should begin delivering the new XKSS models early next year. The cost of the Jaguar Classic will ring in at around (most likely over) $1.5 million dollars. Luckily, we have at least a year to save up.
