Mercedes-Benz COMAND voice control system

If you’re driving a new or used Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, G-Class, GL-Class or many other classes of Mercedes, you’ve probably noticed that you have the capability to activate several of your car’s features by using a voice control system called COMAND. While this system is useful for when you need to focus on the road, you may have experienced a bit of frustration while trying to use it. Here, we hope to shed a little bit of light on how to use Mercedes-Benz COMAND voice control system (for models listed above that have been manufactured between 2012 and 2015).

How to activate Mercedes-Benz voice command system

To begin using your voice command system, press the voice control button on the steering wheel. The button looks like the profile of a human mouth, with sound waves in front of it. This will give you around 30 seconds to give your voice system a command. You can control the volume of the voice prompts by using the normal volume control buttons (also located on the steering wheel).

To cancel Mercedes-Benz voice command

If you’ve activated your voice command without meaning to, and you would like to get rid of it, you can easily cancel it. Also on the steering wheel, there should be an option to cancel the voice control (located on the left side). The button looks like the activation button, but instead of sound waves, it says off. If you don’t see a button that resembles that, then there should be a back arrow that will also work.
