Coming up for the 2017 model year, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class will be upgraded to the 2017 SLC-Class (in coherence with the brand’s new naming strategy). 2016 Mercedes-Benz SLK updates
The final version of the Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class is seeing a number of changes, mostly regarding the vehicle’s transmission and engine. The 2016 SLK-Class will drop the manual transmission (offered on previous versions), giving the lineup exclusively automatic options. Drivers will also see changes made to the base level engine. Currently, the SLK-family sports a 201 horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. However, that engine will soon be replaced with a more powerful option: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that will provide the vehicle with the upwards of 241 horsepower. While the upgrades may come with a slightly higher price tag, our bet is that it will be entirely worth it.
2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC release date
While Mercedes-Benz has yet to confirm the specific release date for the 2017 SLC-Class, there are a few speculations that point to a 2016 release date. Mercedes-Benz is a well-oiled machine when it comes to producing vehicles and getting them out on the market, before consumers get antsy or lose interest. Also, due to the patterns of the past, it is very likely that a 2017 model will be released mid-year 2016.
